In 1936, awestruck onlookers watched as four mountain climbers perished on the wall in dramatic circumstances. The tragic story was later made into a film.

  The Jungfrau Eiger Walk is a well-built hiking trail, with presentations at various points. It is suitable for all ages. The walk is in a magnificent mountain setting and can be made from the Eigergletscher station to Kleine Scheidegg or in the opposite direction. The theme of the Jungfrau Eiger Walk is the Eiger North Wall with its decades of dramatic history – tales of triumph and tragedy. The downhill hike takes about 40 minutes, the uphill hike takes about 50 minutes

  The Eiger Trail runs along the foot of the famous Eiger North Wall from the Eigergletscher station down to Alpiglen. The notorious Eiger North Wall is so close that you can actually sense its mystical and legend-laden aura. Both starting and arrival points are easily reached by rail.
