Lauterbrunnen

Lauterbrunnen lies in an impressive valley, between gigantic cliff faces and mountain peaks. No fewer than 72 waterfalls cascade over the rock walls into the valley. The Staubbach Falls – one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in Europe – inspired Goethe to write his poem “Song of the Spirits Over the Waters”. Lauterbrunnen is the starting point for countless excursions. In summer, hiking and biking trails offer an invitation to exploratory tours. And in winter, the Jungfrau Region ski pistes are on the doorstep.
